Are we batteries?

When you walk in to a room ,,,can you sense an energy? or aura of the space.....

When you interact with certain people ....can you feel that you are pumped whereas with certain people    you feel extremely low?

I donno the science but i feel that every place and person comes with its own energy...and when you interact there is an energy exchange where either you lift each other up or put each other down.

Most of us would have met at least a single bully at school , college or at work or in families no matter what you do you will always never be enough because they will find ways to put you down.

On the other hand when you even smile sometimes at a random stranger on the road you may feel so positive and happy for no reason.

My parents have always taken me to temples across Chennai and this was a weekend outing where i felt relaxed and as a kid, since it was ample open space to run around cut to me being a grown up and visiting the same places the vibe that you feel is always amped up and calming and just simple.

Certain spaces give you that comfort and sense of belonging .....like you feel at home :).

Like the language institute i studied at for years has always felt like home to me ...that used be a judgement free zone where everyone came for the love of the language and noone cares if you are rich/poor/what you did ...nothing and interestingly so you meet a lot of open minded, free thinkers of the society and rightfully so our topics of discussion in class used to cover so many cultural aspects ....family,society everything. And every individual's thought process was so different.

While at work in my initial days when i felt absolutely low i had a bunch of anchors ....people whom i loved, adored and had fun with ...i used to seek them and just go have a laugh with them to get it out of the system and move on.

Similarly when i moved to another place briefly in my life and unassuming friend i found was a quiet tree outside my door.People who have pets ...for example say a dog,the pet owners speak human to the dog and it responds perfectly. Likewise my friend the Tree was always there to listen and respond :).

Sometimes it could be something you read some place you visited that memory gives you a hug and energy at the same time.

Its like we navigate this energy dynamics and we add and subtract basis what we give and get ...

Some places, people have an undeniable aura that kind of help you rise and some times the opposite also happens.

Delulu or not Energy matters!!!! what is your take????

Crazy stupid love for Movies....

Since the days of the good old DD....watching movies has been a interesting thing to do.....!!.And for us junta of this great big nation...movies and cricket are like religion (cliche!!! i know).
Cricket ....i ve given up....occasionally interested in the hot / cute guy who plays the sport...i do steal a glance while my brother watches every over ....( only bais possible!!).
Movies ..... i still enjoy....i have my own therapy movies that i watch when i am on lowest battery mode.
I ve watched some movies countless times like....!!its funny!!and crazy.
I do " due diligence" ... i mean i do read up reviews from my trusted magazines and news paper before i walk in to a theatre...coz....my 3 hours ...!!

One perk for someone like me to ogle at absolutely dream like locations....and occasionally see characters on screen who resemble u or a good friend :)....see the hero wants the same things u want from life...but he gets it :P .....in just one song!! :).
And of course some movies just take it to the next level...when it comes to story telling ....technology....animation etc.

I remember watching one worstest movie ..along with 2 friends who i took along for a sudden movie watching urge and trust me they almost wanted to kill me....one of my friends fell sick after watching a real dumb ass movie.....trust me i had to say 1000 sorry's !!

And there are cult movies like .....Dark Night Series.... Inception...Jurassic Park.....Dil Chahta Hai...Wake up Sid....Pasanga.... which i watch repeatedly like a maniac.

Its so amazing to see an entire audience full of strangers ....completely get  to a point of unison where they laugh..cry...clap....whistle at the same goddamn moment....its....niceee...!!

I watched  300 in a theater filled with bais with my trusted ally P .....it was funny that we were perhaps the only 2 gals atleast in the  few rows we could spot around!!

I am a sucker for animation movies.....some of my favs...Wall E,Ratatouille,Shrek,Madagascar,Nemo....my brother is worse than me he knows all dialouges byheart!! crazyness in blood i tell u...
I took to watching Rocky series coz he used to watch it......its a beauty to watch...i love it :).

I can go on..... but they do mean something when they say movie magic !!!!!! :):)

Finding those wings...and yeah taking off!!!

Enough has been said....written...everywhere about how the " everyday " perhaps kills you as a person and you turn in to a " kasu " machine....

All that guilt of losing self goes away when you swipe that card to buy something fancy and  sport it...(of course ensure that the brand name flashes...even if its a toddlers teenie weenie booties!!).

But then there is another side...which has slowly but steadily emerged is that brotherhood of folks who do things that means tons to them and who have no qualms about being " not the rat" ...in the race.
I keep reading loads of stuff about people across social economic layers  who " just do it"..

They do start somewhere ...a tiny business idea...a generosity to help someone...to plant trees....grow organic food....educate kids...(not ur 1 2 ka 4 from your old text books...but lifes lessons)...showcase a hidden talent in some remote village...!!!.
Basically do stuff that never will fit in a box( for those who like " out of the box")....in your face those stupid society aunty uncles...who first put "sand" saying ..." ayyo  not an engineer....oh no H1B...!!..oh no big house no big car.." in so many peoples life's!!.

Though it seems to be  a very shallow and confused time...when people talk more on social networks than to their family,friend...anyone sitting right next to them at home! and truly like being popular and follow a herd...
Its those people who have created a world for themselves ..doing things they are passionate  about and not follow society's norms..that are my heroes.... :):):)..love u !!!and proud of you....!!
clicked this pic during one of my trips :):)

Living in a bubble

It s like living in a bubble......one day its happy and the next half goes falling flat on the face!!!.
I know not whether it is the demands of life or its just one's weakness not to know how to be self sustained.
Though you brush aside all the super luxury that seems to have caught on everyone's fancy...and perhaps live  inside a bubble....the bubble gives away to all the noise outside. Its not a force field just a bubble :(.

Families go for dinner together ...everyone glued to their phones!couples (not the wierd ones who make you cringe) acting like they are in a business meeting.....i pay may be less that 0.5% attention to stuff about everydaythings when mom talks to me..!!!

Its like living inside a video game..(the bubble is now taking a back seat)....theres always something fabricated as IMPORTANT....but its nothing but a mere social/economical compliance.

Nope its not a call for theraphy...but sometimes too much chaos causes a pause in the frame and makes one wonder!!! whats going on .....

Its always self healing ( whoa man fancy !!! :P) that helps an aching heart and a confused mind....

Dedicted to all aching hearts and confused minds....my prayers to find the truth.....that which lies inside....may be the bubble !!!!u never know :)

All that glitters is gold!!!!! :):)

I ve lived all my life in Chennai....though we still hear how city life sucks when compared to a prim and proper village where everything is grounded, earthy and filled with love and simplicity and closer to nature ; the city life say 10 years back too had its own fair share of moments of wow :).

The rains beautified the city.....summer was  all about chasing dragon flies, having loads of ice cream and having crazy  fun.Mango trees would be targets for a bunch of rowdy boys and gals ;).Marina was the sanctum sanctorium.

If you catch up with few elderly gentlemen who ve lived here all their lives they would speak of how there were beautiful trees, how life was uncomplicated and how this city managed to be simple yet a culmination of everything that was modern.

Fast forward to now.....loads of changes.....well laid roads....changes in transport system...malls everywhere....life is lived on the go like how it is across in most parts of this planet.

But one thing thats gone off is the appreciation for simple things in life...basically simplicity....to whatever extent that was earlier existent it seems to be approaching minus something!!

We have a 1000 channels...barring a few most programmes are trash that even a new born is proudly allowed to watch!!!; If you  enter any air conditioned even remotely fancy shop the shop keeper only caters to the hip and english speaking junta...if you walk in and talk the regional lingo you are pattikadu!!! who is given a indifferent look!
Mummy papas want bache log to speak only English!!
Dosa is had with a fork and knife even by ur own aunties after one trip to meet their sonny who lives abroad!!

I donno.....why Simple does not sell... as good as loud nonsense!!!!

So glitter away.....wear make up even to a grocery store.....always speak phoren......run with the rats......

Be loud.....and glitter the old moral science books need some retouch!!!!

Like a bird....

My four day trip unlocked doors to myself......the sides i thought had perished in the great battle of everyday.

I was of course mesmerized by the blue sky, never ending mountains, the mist and the beautiful shades of green......also could not help but think about how much one forgets in the ROUTINE that we live and breathe!.

I walked so much after a long time.......did crazy stuff  like found a nice spot in the hotel where there was a swing and went playing in that for close to half hour :).No phone calls...no computer...no emails.....life was just basic things those four days.It was like back in school doing a scrap book and hunting down different varieties of leaves and flowers...spotting birds...peacocks.....flowers...monkeys....!!.

I was like a kid at the zoo when we spotted elephants in the forest :) such  marvel of a creature ; and watching it so close was truly an experience .This trip also gave me a taste and flavor of mommies everywhere...they just know one thing to love always and be warm :) met 2 wonderful families and shared the love they showed us visitors...tummy full of yummy food :) what more can you ask for!? .

And to top it all carrying my love ...my camera with me everywhere and just clicking pictures of sights i wanted to live in my memory forever was a blissful experience :).

Glad i made it to this trip.....this will be my energizer for the everydays to come.....!!!!

Little Capsules Of Happiness

U know...ur whole life may  suck......you wanna punch ten ppl on their face!!
Ur plans may have got messed up......but there are those inbetween moments of happiness...those tiny little...itsy bitsy happy moments in miniature that make you feel like you are flying!

Like getting a perfect round dosa on the tawa....or spotting semma figure who smiles back at your wide mouth jollu expressions!!

Or escaping aunty serials when your best friend shows up at home on a hopeless day!!

Or a drizzle and a beauty of a breeze when you wind up a hard day at work!!

For me off late those moments are  listening to good songs in the cab :) or telling everyone that i finally finally finally bought my Camera :)

Go find these moments and hold them close to your heart :) lets be in the moment ...we will always have a 2000 million things to battle !!!

Life as it is.....

I mean there is 10001 reasons to be happy about .......but whats with those villainous thoughts that kind of outweigh these angels of hope and make you a sad smiley.

I write this going over so many things running in my head...( as somebody famously said...you please stop thinking ---can u?!).

Its like crazy nonsensical side of people you interact with ....folks you love , the lame driver on the road, the stupid rich kid in the shop, the bitchy one ..........everyone is just trying or rather succeed in ticking you off!!anger rises overflows...makes one go red and you damn lose it for the next few hours. Or if you are in the "actors industry or the allied ones" you fake a smile as nerves are pumping anger and disgust in your brain.

There are a million self-help books on anger management...seeing the positive side or being Optimistic...but how does one learn to detach from nonsense that puts you off and just move on.

Life comes to us in one day packages....you never know what’s going to happen next right! .

My point is some people do it effortlessly, not letting stuff get on to you. I hear it from my friends as well that they ve seen people who do it.

It doesn’t matter what you do...i guess that it helps to remain detached and calm on inside.

I have seen myself do it sometimes but not all the times. Hope i get there!!coz no ones gonna be here for a 1000 years!!!Like they say....cliché' i know....!!!:)

Some annnoying NER!!!u cud ve seen them too!! they may live next door!

Somehow when some of our people complete their education and live in their new found Moneydom(full credit cards in wallet!) kill their brains!and their heart!
They just take it to work get promoted buy another car a house on OMR get married and raise children like they were born somewhere else and not in this country!.

The first identity lost is the language; the New Educated Rich(NER) never converse in their mother tongue its a bad thing c mon!.The next is whatever culture thats left is us.....like spending time with parents, family do few good deeds...instead most of this clan "hangs out!" at various pubs and splurge at all the stupid malls(ketta relax panrangalam!).Oh yeah but we all still follow our so called culture strictly in stupid things like say "Dowry!","Caste discrimintion","discrimination of all kinds!!".

Food culture : He he (apdinna!!) They will only eat Pizza ,burger have cola.....grow fat and die of some fancy disease and  get all new twisted stuff in to the gene pool!.They teach their kids to be arrogant and rude and demanding ..but never teach them to be kids!!.

They ditch anything thats native,original...good for health..likes of the humble idly are forgotten ....even local veggies....NER only eat Blah veggie from Blah country( i mean how do u wash hands off your own good things so easily!).NER always travel in cars but they drive like psycho crack pots!(most of em) and honk as if the cycle fellow standing in front in the signal is the only thing between them and their house!which is like 100 Kms away!.

NER s also throw money around unnecessarily...they may pay 1500 Rs for a pair of chappal but you will note that they always fight with the poor vegatable vendor for that 2 Rs discount!.Psst ....they always cry to contribute for any gift buying at work for a collegue!
NER even when they travel in the AC Bus will hit around other people and fight for seat and never say sorry/thanks!!.They waste food like crazy common sights at restaurants!!!They never can wait in any queue ..they throw plastic water bottles out of their cars while driving..in the middle of the road!!.They show off like they are the Sultans of the world but they act soooo cheap!!!man!!why cant some of you be a little human and well mannered and original!!Money is not everything all the time!!!.

PS: This applies only to a certain little group that act really cheap and insane!!.
There are so many of them  who really are very inspiring!!and great people who work hard ,go to great heights and still are so nice and human!

Food.......!!!!!! my love...my memories......

Every morsel of food is a delight...it gives us life ,recharges our battery, stirs our soul, brings back memories, inspires us!!.

I ve been a crazy fan of the cookery shows on TV!!from my childhood.I love to cook!!!...food really really inspires me!
Its like clay.....u just play with it...it takes the flavour and love of the person who cooks it giving different interpretations when someone serves it to you!!!.
You can cook a simple Thayir Sadam or a complex dish  cooking relieves your stress, kindles your creativity and is something that you better know to survive!!

Early memories of enjoying food are those hurried up morning breakfast sessions while you pray that the bus wont miss you :)  and end up being late to school!!the simple yet yummy Idli Sambhar combo!!nothing can ever beat this unassuming superman combo!!!that will get your day kick started bindass!!!!
My lunch at school was Curd rice and potato fry or any other rice mix with the appropriate veggies(2 varieties of veggies was a must!!!).I remember a north indian friend sharing Green Chilli pickle(Yummy and heavenly) with rotis! or my good friend bringing the ever so simle paruppu sadam with baby potato fry:).

Evenings was filled with simple homemade dishes crispy dosas which my granny made and the my ultimate love pudina chutney!!!!!!.............ooooooooooooooooo i love it anyday.Somedays it would be some new stuff which my aunt saw on TV and all of us cousins used to be guinea pigs to any new dishes she used to make!
When i started cooking ,i guess i was in class 5;  my easy menu for the evening used to be Top Ramen noodles ( i would make it a little soupy since i didnt get the water measure right :P) and my brother always loved what i made.My upmas, cutlets, samosas(thanks to cookery class in school) had a good fan following...even the instant coffee i made was appreciated!:).

Saturdays was the best of it all...when i return from school  amma will be home and as i approach home just about half a kilometer away(just exaggerating :P) i would know she is making rasam, keerai masiyal, karunaikizhangu varuval!!!!and lunch was eaten on banana leaf!! .
Oh how i love the way i would wait for her to serve all the dishes in a certain order and only then start eating.
Sundays was the " Non Veg" days !!!breakfast watching Mahabhaaaraaaaaaaaat....Luch watching some regional language film......dinner was usually with  stories about the whole week or some news programme!!.The fish curry my perimma made will make you start crying(it used to be sooooo spicy n yummy!!!)!!.And when it rained in Chennai it was time for Pakoda's with evening tea!:).
Summer s was always filled with Watermelons,Elanee,Nungu,ICE CREAM....no nonsense bottled crazy colas!!.There was a huge mango tree opposite our house , it was the most wanted since it had so many mangoes , all the rowdy boys used to throw stones at it watching them from our jannal was a favourite pasttime!!he he i used to have  binacoulars to count the mangoes!!!lol!!.

College was absolutely no food or very less food ....ended up like a skeleton after my Engg quite obvious why !!.
But memories of spending time at my Mallu friend's house is just amazing!!Aunty made the most yummiest fish fry and rose cookies for Christmas was an all time favourtie!!!.
My fraandship(the new movie...see i am updated!!) with mallu food was those days i spent at her home doing  my final year project!!she would never let me out of her house without eating food !be it lunch or dinner!!:).
The food at my other friend's house was always a treat!!I need to write a seperate post for that !!
College canteen either had chips, ice cream or bottled drinks!:(.Miss sharing one chips packet among ten girls!!whatty effort!

PG was just traveling looong distance to college  and food was eaten as fast as you could coz you would be hungry like mad!evening was ice lolly and cupnoodles...i know nothing sounds remotely healthy!!

My office was the place where i met absolute food lovers...there was simply no looking back!!
The GREAT MANALI TRIP and the super cool food we ate there......the trip was special coz we ate different food at different Dhabas on our way to Manali by bus from Delhi!:).The adventure camp where we stayed had super amazing cooks who made the most beautiful food be it the simple bread toast(whole wheat i remember...)  or the biryani!!!.
While we stayed at Noida just for a couple of days we were roaming the streets like mad people for some Idli and Dosa!!!Innumerable cups of Gulab Jamu at Lunch ......5 rupee per jamun was a steal!!!!i d say!

Friday Lunch sessions at Eden,Sigree,Dhaba,Amaravati...... so many places i really lost count!!it was fun as we were a big group and used to look forward to these sessions!
Bread Omlette at Alsa Mall,Frankie @ greams road! ,Tender Coconut pudding at Fruit Shop!Mint Icecream at Moven pick we wre just having a greaaat time!!!

....................................To be continued:):)

Oh yes!!!to whomsoever it applies!!!lol

Its been ages .........happy to be back!!

Have always thought how silly people can behave....to anybody for that matter!!

No  matter what you study, how much your travel...how many languages you speak.....how many wines and cheese names you can remember......you still remain the same cheap person!!! :)

Incidentally ready two articles in The Hindu Open Page today on the same lines as to how we judge people by their looks  instantly (we ve really taken the 2 minute mantra seriously ,it works for maggie not people!!c mon!)and how kids nowadays do not respect even their own  parents as human beings! (reminds me of that ad where the father is like an ATM who walks along with  his sonny in a mall!!!! LOL).
Its not like everyone you see and meet is like that but some of them do have those shades of stupidity which they simply cant  hide!!Like .....I will talk to / mingle with people who are from the same ....area,community,religion,speak the same language, same status!!!or same level ofstupidity!!! :P(this is excused!! saves others  some  energy!).
This kind of behavior is carried on to places where you study, work, socialise!!etc etc!!so whats the point on being the uber cool dude and still have the caveman ideology inside your head!! huh!?
These kind of people just make you feel sick!!!cant they do something to slip  some sense in their head like slap them or something!!or rather give them an ANTI -whatever injection!!!

These folks live around you and irritate people without any end to it!!!If you have the time and energy try slapping some sense on a couple of them...the rest ......GOD shall only save all of us from THEM!!!!
Or we can learn to ignore them!!

So all the jumpy, ones out there who still live in dark ages wake up....all of us are human beings we can sometimes be nice to each other...for a change....!!!!

ADD!

ADD i understand is  medical   condition.....simply going by the literal sense...it can be translated as one 's lack of attention!!!.In the days of " Web Living"  where people spend good(rather most of the time
)amount of time trying to connect over cyberspace/chats/Im ing /tweeting/social networking and the likes communication happens through abbreviations.
World has shrunk so has words...and so has attention spans.
With so much happening so quick one really wonders if the kinds who can read a 500 page novel still exist!.
May be in future they would design an application which would start of a siren if u speak more/take more time to  communicate!

So much of garbage in media u switch channels like 50 channels/sec one really feels the pinch when u watch a movie at one streatch in a theatre and  when there s a slow song u really want to change the channel/pause or do something about it.

Reading a news paper cover to cover was a  daily affair...but now u skip lines and  jump and probably are restless to get to the jist of it!!Even when you speak the attention span u can have of the other person is like nano seconds because there is always your high tech mobile which cries out louder than a child for attention(ah those annoying ringtones & caller tunes!)or there is an instant message about your friend's status update on facebook!and one is easily tempted to multi task than to talk to the person sitting right across the table!.The only exception to this could be the New Age lovers immersed in their endless mobile converstaion over a looooooooooong period of time :P !
Its becoming real that one has to be like an AD film maker to sell yourself/communicate in the shortest span of time.Gone are those days when even a power cut in the city was a moment for the family to bond and talk through. Now noone really has the patience!!!!
I feel this personally i am not able to read long articles, decently sized books !!!
I feel that only a concious effort to switch off from the Fast Forwrd mode and switch over to Normal Mode can kill this diminishing attention span syndrome.

On the way...

The most interesting part about a bus journey is the fact that u just watch the world go by....and still  noone knows u r watching them.

I love it when i travel long distances by a bus :).
I have had awesome fun  in my 6 years of bus journey everyday to colleges on OMR.

My intial experience was my commute to Hindustan ;an hour and a  half of travel time.
Then OMR had trees, ponds on either sides...there used to be fog in whatever winter chennai experinced.
And one got to see lots of birds .
My entertainment apart from chating,singing...sometimes sleeping used to be spotting kingfishers:).
I remember the bus i used to travel in was - Brahmaputra :0) i ve had loads of fun there.......

Then later with SSN it was the famous bus number "7".Me and Priya ve had some of  the most entertaining times in the bus !:P

How i miss those times....

Bday blues....

Another year .......one more year older ...(obviously..!).....as far as its just cakes and gifts and fun its fine...
this " age" part really sucks...!!!!cant do anything abt it....

someone at work asked how old are u now.....i said 15 :P

Didnt go to work (hurray!!) instead went to temple with Mom and Dad...then watched a movie PASANGA was a cute movie laughed my heart out!!!was too cute( i know ve already mentioned it but it was much better than those stupid formula movies...).
After movie had no plans but to grab something to eat (pavam hungry stomach was begging)...went to the food court...then ended up screaming with surprise seeing my sweet friends there :) was a great surprise :) bijya and antenna!! :)

Then 2 days later ...office ppl had organised their usual ceremony!!!.
Trust me most of the time it so bloody resembles a bad play where everyone recites memorised dialouges!!!!thought i had escaped my turn since i was on leave!!!

The cake was nice!!i was hungry pretending not to know all that was going around me(collecting money ....buying gift.... entry with cake...)
My sweet friend and a senior made it easy for me :)
The gifts were sweet and ceremony unusually turned to be a nice one :)

Hoping to do some new things this time around... :)
