Summer time....

Summer holidays........the ideal time every kid in school used to look forward to.....its the time for fun!!
We are so in love with chennai!!that we hardly used go out of town! :)

summer time.....reminds me of endless hours of play........ice creams......exhibitions.......cycling........water melon......the marina.....
My paatis house had 'marudhani'(henna) tree......this was the time when we get to apply marudhani on our palms....funny patterns with circles!!all my cousins...used to wait in a queue ...and the ritual was an enjoyable one......

disastrous attempts to make ice cream at home......jus to end up with some kinda funny liquid!!
the yellow flower trees in the neighborhood used to be in full bloom.....echoing the spirit of summer....bright n beautiful......

The favorite past time...was "to play".......anything.......from cricket to marbles......!not to mention butterfly catching.....Frisbees ......
evenings used to be "cycling time"...my bicycle was my best buddy....used to try out all sorts of stunts to fall flat on the road!end up with scratches ...but walk home with a lot of pride!!(veera thazumbu!)


Summer vacations also used to have a bit of assignments .....now thats boring!

dad used to insist on reading newspaper everyday morning....also a page of "writing" to keep hand writing in good condition......me n my bro used to fight over who gets to color the picture that comes in the young world!

the regular power cuts also added value to the fun......it used to be the time to do star gazing!and moon watching.......moon chasing also in the agenda!
summer rains.....mangoes.......!yummy!

these little things seem so bygone....but memories still afresh.......its kinda refreshing , all the fun n frolic in the sun!being a kid is a privilege in its own ways!

Arranged or deranged!!

Man ...this arranged wedding crap is really really funny!!so how do we still find a bride/bridegroom....
so evolved we ve become thanks to "liberalization"(now that influences even the way u breathe in this country)...but we still are so loyal to "ponnu pakkradhu'!!ceremony.....we follow it to a T.I really wonder why do u still look for a girl/guy who looks like say a stereotype......."wanted fair...educated...tall....well mannered....blah...blah..."

Its really a welcome relief to see a lot of families encourage children choosing their own life partners....being their support system and respecting their decision!!

ultimately......u arrange or " they "arrange......what matters is how far would u love the person for being what they are!!and how much of happiness and understanding they share!

what if the girl puts on weight after marriage ...or gets tanned or something!!i jus cant stop laughing at all this stupidity!!

Nowadays everybody is aware of what they want....thay have an independent mind.....think about it....!!
its high time "the groom to be"....becomes mores sensible and accepts a " life partner" rather than choosing a girl like a commodity...its not a business deal for heavens sake.i kno it may sound pretty old...for the times we are living in....but sad there are still people who make it look like we ve never changed for the good at all!!


Still they do get dowry!!if the guy is working/living abroad ....then the girl's family is treated like ...u never want to kno!!!grow up people!!!


its ultimately a union of two individuals and their life together......so let them decide.....don't make it so complicated.....

Marriage is an age old institution its a respectable one....it has definitely added value to lives of innumerable individuals.....it has been the reason for happiness in many people's lifes...
so let it continue to be so......

Am really shocked at the way some people treat a wedding as just a business opportunity!!

I am really happy for all those who ve been lucky enough to find their loved one for life!!
